Size 4 soccer ball is used by players older than 8 but younger than 12 and it weights between 12-13 oz, measuring in circumference no more than 25-26 inches. In Australia there are netball variants for children such as Fun Net for children from 5 to 7 years old, Netta which is a more professional introduction to netball for children older than 7 and High Five is a variation that helps children become more experienced with all positions on court.
A proper maintenance of a size 4 soccer ball consists in always removing excessive dirt from the ball after use. For that it might be used a damp cloth to wipe the ball and, if necessary, stains can be removed using mild soap or leather cleaner. Using detergents is not recommended because they could damage outer covering or stitching. On the other hand, it is not recommended to use excessive water sprays to clean the ball because the water can get into the ball. Otherwise, the right pressure will be indicated on the ball. Usually soccer balls have a pressure between 6 and 8 lbs. It is recommended to reduce pressure in the ball after a match to help protecting the ball steams and stitching by reducing the pressure on them.
Size 4 soccer ball can be used in sports similar to soccer but that are played using the hands instead of the feet, such as netball or futsal or it can be used for trainings of children younger than 12 years old.
